Incentive guide ยท Ontario

Ontario home energy rebates available in 2026.

The main provincial pathway is the Home Renovation Savings program. Eligibility, equipment rules and application timing matter, and the former Canada Greener Homes Grant is closed.

Current Home Renovation Savings incentives

The Home Renovation Savings program lists the following maximum rebates. These are program limits, not guaranteed amounts; confirm eligibility and current terms before purchase.

Some paths require a home energy assessment

The program separates upgrades into pathways. The insulation, windows and doors, heat-pump water-heater and air-sealing pathway requires a home energy assessment and two or more eligible upgrades. Other listed measures, including heat pumps and solar with battery storage, are presented on a no-assessment-required pathway.

Verify before committing

Program pages summarize incentives. Confirm eligible equipment, pre-approval or enrolment steps, contractor requirements, deadlines and whether work may begin before approval.

The Canada Greener Homes Grant is closed

Natural Resources Canada states that the Canada Greener Homes Grant is closed. Applications ran from May 2021 to February 2024, and December 31, 2025 was the final day for applicants to upload documents. New planning should not assume that grant remains available.
