Privacy notice.

HomeEnergy Consulting is an independent home energy consulting practice based in Ontario, Canada. This notice explains, in plain language, what personal information we may collect when you contact us and how we use it. It is written to reflect ordinary Canadian and Ontario privacy expectations; it is not legal advice and does not claim any formal certification of compliance.

What we collect

If you choose to contact us — by email or, once connected, through the enquiry form or a booking link — we may collect the details you provide, such as:

• Your name and email address;
• Your general location or region in Ontario;
• The project type you're considering and the systems in your home;
• Your rough timing; and
• Anything you write in your message.

Please share only what's needed to describe your enquiry. Do not submit utility account numbers, financial or payment details, medical information, or other sensitive documents through the website form or email. If specific documents are needed later, we'll arrange a secure way to share them.

Why we use it

We use the information you provide only to:

• Respond to your enquiry;
• Assess whether and how we can help, and which engagement fits; and
• Schedule and prepare for a consultation.

Service providers

Email, website enquiries and online bookings are handled by service providers acting on our behalf, including Titan for email, Formspree for website-form delivery and Calendly for scheduling. We'll limit what we share to what's needed to provide the service. Those providers maintain their own privacy practices.

No sale of personal information

We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Data minimization and retention

We aim to collect only what we need. We keep enquiry information only as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you, to run and support the consulting relationship, and to meet ordinary business or legal record-keeping needs — after which we delete or de-identify it.

Safeguards

We use reasonable, commonly accepted measures to protect the information in our care. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Accessing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask us what enquiry information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@homeenergy-consulting.ca and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

External links

This site links to external services — including Calendly for online booking and our Instagram and Facebook profiles. Those services are operated by others and have their own privacy practices, which we don't control.

Future homeowner intake portal

A separate homeowner intake portal is planned for the future. It is not part of this website's public navigation, and it will carry its own consent flow and privacy notice describing any additional information it collects.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as the practice grows and as services are connected. The effective date above reflects the most recent update.
